Mentoring and school remediation

The educational mentoring and school remediation program for 40 Roma students of the Costesti Secondary School is carried out by the resident teaching staff in collaboration with the Center for Advocacy and Human Rights, during the 2015-2016 school year. The program was designed with the goal of bridging the gaps between the school's students. In the absence of such a program, educational gaps between students widen and the chances of success for students with poorer results decrease dramatically.

The main criterion for selecting students is that of belonging to vulnerable groups at risk: students who come from poor families with a poor material situation, with a difficult school situation, who face social marginalization, absenteeism, school dropout.

The 20 students of the 3rd and 4th grades enrolled in the program work additionally with resident teaching staff to recover the material, complete homework, acquire new knowledge.

The 20 students of the 7th and 8th grades enrolled in the program work additionally with resident teachers in Romanian, mathematics and English.
